Nearly a decade ago, two entrepreneurs formed a business collaboration that was destined to forever alter the landscape of today’s modern nutraceutical industry.   Driven by a vision of providing affordable, healthful natural remedies to the public, Richard Gelso, founder of MB Innovations and Brandon Colburn of RBL Imports Inc teamed up to form an innovative strategic partnership in 2002. They shared a vision of developing a unique product line based on all-natural ingredients imported from the far reaches of the world.

The duo began their search by initiating an Research and Development program that identified naturally occurring ingredients with properties that have been shown to be beneficial to the treatment of a litany of ailments. They identified ingredients that have been employed successfully by indigenous cultures located throughout the globe for centuries.  The result is a line of nutraceutical products that address issues ranging from weight loss to energy replenishment.

Richard’s interest in the healing properties found in nature’s extensive organic medicine chest was sparked by his experience with the illness of a close family member.  In the mid-1990’s Richard’s brother, Michael, was diagnosed with ALS, a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord affecting muscle movement. Disillusioned by the unsuccessful modes of treatment offered by the medical profession, Richard began researching the medicinal properties found in botanicals that were not easily available to patients as an alternative to traditional medicine. Richard began identifying a number of natural herbs that other cultures have used for generations to treat a myriad number of illnesses ranging from indigestion to preventative remedies for colds and infection.

Although Mr. Gelso’s efforts failed to save his brother from a horrible disease and an untimely death, the experience fundamentally changed his view of the world.  He walked away from that experience with a newfound commitment to the spiritual and physical healing power of Christ and a desire to find alternative remedies not offered by traditional practitioners. To this day, Mr. Gelso advocates for those among us who are less fortunate and in need of our help and our prayers. His humanitarian efforts include his financial and personal participation in a Pakistani orphanage, a part of the world where there is not shortage of human suffering and great need. Richard is committed to financing his humanitarian outreach through proceeds generated by MB Innovations product sales.
